I have to disagree with #1. As a lifelong Presa Canario owner I firmly recommend them to people that are able to put the time in with the dog. These are very similar breeds and both are amazing. My Presa is a big sweetheart with the family and very gentle with children. He also instinctively protects my wife and daughters at all times when outside the house. He has defended me and our home and I’m so confident in him I see no reason to keep a gun in the house. The dog is a better option. He is good with our Bernadoodle and small dogs in the neighborhood. These are just all around awesome dogs.

The dogo argentino were bred for hunting big game, such as boar and bears. Also they are not aggressive and are known to be good for being good family dogs just as much as cane corsos and pitbulls. You just need to train them correctly.

Desensitize is the word I use, but dude definitely has the goods as far as dog training knowledge goes.

My Cane Corso is much easier to manage than my Shepsky. It is definitely not a beginner's breed though. He took a LOT of work to train. I don't have to worry about my kids in or around my house, but God have mercy on any trespassers. He got one bite on me, when going after someone else. When he enters battle mode, it is hell trying to call him off.

You shouldn’t keep your dog on a leash only because you’re afraid of jail or fines. Dogs in my neighborhood are never leashed and they always run up to my dog (who has severe anxiety) every time I take her for a walk. And you’re right, nothing happens to their owners, but I can’t take my dog outside very often because of them. Keep your dog on a leash because you don’t own the outdoors and everyone deserves to feel safe.

Can someone help me understand where my dog falls under? Although I'm going to get a DNA test I would still like people input. I adopted a dog and it was stated she was a Staffordshire Bull Terrier & American Staffordshire Terrier mix. She's 1yr and 11 months now 44lbs the last time I weighted her. She has a lot of qualities explained in this video very loving, high energy and needs someone that knows how to get her to calm down, tends to be very reactive to some dogs, she's also shy and timid to people she doesn't know. I get confused with pitbull, bull, Staffordshire, terrier all getting mixed up in the same category. I just tell ppl she's a pitbull because she definitely looks like one just to make it easier

Control of your dog(s), wether verbal or physical doesn’t matter. I know I do, and am certain that Garret has better “control” of our dogs off leash than most people have with their dogs “on leash”. So imo, keep your nose up your own @ss Karens, and let people get on with their lives.
